Tower of the Sun — tickets, prices and booking

The one thing you must do before travelling: book ahead.

Entry to the inside of the Tower of the Sun requires an advance reservation, by the day before at the latest. The set ticket including park admission is ¥1,080 for adults and ¥310 for children. Opening hours are 10:00 to 17:00 and it is closed on Wednesdays.

Do I need a reservation for the Tower of the Sun?

Yes. Interior visits are by reservation only, and the reservation must be made by the day before at the latest. Payment is normally taken by credit card when you book. You cannot rely on simply turning up on the day.

How much does it cost?

The set ticket, which covers the tower interior plus admission to the Natural and Cultural Gardens and the Japanese Garden, is ¥1,080 for adults. The interior-only ticket is ¥720 but normally requires park admission in addition, so the set ticket is usually the simpler choice.

With the set ticket, park admission is included for children. Buying the interior-only ticket normally also requires separate park admission.

How do I get there?

Bampaku-kinen-koen station on the Osaka Monorail, then across the Chuo bridge to the central gate. The tower entrance is on the far side of the tower, down a staircase.
